What is a Telegram?

An International Telegram is a message forwarded electronically overseas to be delivered by that country's administration.

Methods used for delivery can vary from Messenger, Post, Telephone, Fax and Telex.

How to send a telegram

Sending a telegram has never been this easy. Just follow a few simple steps and your telegram will be on its way.

If you wish to send a telegram, click the ‘order’ button on our website or click here to order a telegram.

Step 1: Select a telegram product.
Telegrams Online offers telegram products for all kind of occasions.


Step 2: Create an account or Log-in to our site.
When you are a new user, you have to enter your personal details first. Once you have created an account, your data will be stored so that log-in will be easy in the future.

If you have used the website before or if you have a business account, you can log-in with your account information.


Step 3: Compose your message.

Please, give an enter after every line. If you like, you can spell and check the message easily by pressing our ‘Spell & Check Message’ button


Step 4: Enter the recipient's address.
Make sure the telegram will be sent to the right address. Incomplete or wrong addresses can cause delay in delivery.


Step 5: Check - and edit if necessary - the provided
information on the order preview page before you send the telegram.


Step 6: Enter payment details
We accept most major credit and debit cards e.g. Mastercard, Visa, Switch, Solo and American Express (AmEx).
And that's it! In a few simple steps your personal telegram will be on its way to any selected destination.

How do I use your site?

Browse your way through the categories to the products that interest you.

If you decide you wish to send a message, click one of the 'Order' buttons and follow the instructions.

We will require a message, your details (i.e. name, address, e-mail and a password for your e-account), the recipients details and charging details.

You may save a message and return at a later date to complete it. A confirmatory e-mail will be despatched to you when you save or complete an order.


SECURITY AND PRIVACY

Is it safe to order over the Internet? Are my credit card details and personal information secure when using your site?

Yes, our site uses industry standard SSL encryption to protect your personal information and credit card details, whilst they are being transmitted over the Internet.

We recommend using a popular browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator to take advantage of this security feature.

We never store your credit card information on our web site after the transaction is complete. Your personal details and addresses will be kept secure by a password protected area called the e-account which has a password of your choosing.

Will my personal information ever be used for marketing or passed on to any third party?

Your personal details are stored securely and will not be passed on to any third party.

However, you may occasionally receive updates from us about new products and services available on our web site, unless you indicated otherwise when confirming your personal details to us.


ORDERS AND DELIVERY

Why do I have to register to place an order?

Registration is simple and easy and allows us to ensure you provide all the necessary details required to get your message(s) delivered as quickly as possible. When you place an order you can set a password and we will give you a free e-account.

What is an e-account?

The e-account is your own personalised area of our site which securely stores your personal details and the history of your past orders.

The e-account also functions as an online address book which can save you time if you place messages to individuals on a regular basis.

Who should I contact if I have a query about my order?

Please Note: This email address should only be used for queries and not to place orders. Please remember to quote the order ID to identify your transaction, this is provided in your order confirmation email which you will receive when placing an order through our site.

How long does delivery take?

- UK SameDay Telegram by Personal Messenger: your telegram will be delivered the same working day if ordered before 2 p.m. Monday to Friday. If ordered after 2 p.m., your telegram will be delivered the next working day (Monday to Friday). Also choose this telegram if you order in the evening or at the weekend and want a delivery on the next possible day.

- UK Telegram by Personal Messenger before 9 a.m.: your telegram will be delivered the next working day or Saturday before 9 a.m. if ordered before 4 p.m. If ordered after 4 p.m., it will take one day more. So if you order in the evening, and want your telegram delivered the next day, you must choose the UK SameDay Telegram!

- UK Telegram by Personal Messenger: your telegram will be delivered the next working day or Saturday before 6 p.m. if ordered before 4 p.m. If ordered after 4 p.m., it will take one day more. So if you order in the evening, and want your telegram delivered the next day, you must choose the UK SameDay Telegram!

- UK Telegram by 1st class post: Telegrams by 1st Class Post are relatively certain to be delivered the next working day or Saturday. Though extremely unlikely, occasionally a Telegram can get delayed or lost in the post. Unfortunately, TelegramsOnline is unable to offer refunds in such circumstances as these occurrences are out of our control. We are also unable to answer any questions regarding delivery. If it is essential that your telegram is delivered the next day, please choose the ‘UK Telegram by Personal Messenger’.

Delivery time scales to International addresses via our International telegram service can vary and are dependent upon the overseas administration in the destination country. Click here to find out specific delivery arrangements.

You should also take into account time differences and operational hours that are in place within that country.


What if I need additional delivery information?

Which payment methods are accepted?

We accept most major credit and debit cards e.g. Mastercard, Visa, American Express (AmEx) and Maestro. Currently we do not accept Diners Card. You can also pay for your telegram with PayPal and Direct Ebanking.



USERNAME AND PASSWORD

I'm typing my username and password correctly but it doesn't appear to work.

The username (your email address) and password are case sensitive, ensure the username and password are entered in the correct case (upper/lower). Your email address must be entered in lowercase.

I've forgotten my e-account password and I am unable to log in to place my order or view my previous orders.

Click on the 'Forgotten your password' icon on the Order page.

Enter your e-mail address when prompted and your password will be e-mailed to you.


GENERAL

Will all of my Telegrams be delivered together?

Telegrams sent on the same day but without the guaranteed delivery option may not arrive at each address at the same time.

If you select our guaranteed delivery service these should arrive before 1200hrs (UK time) the next working day.

There are some exceptions i.e. Scottish Islands, Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Wight.

Will my address be shown on the messages I send?

For Baby Announcement messages and messages delivered within the UK, your address will be shown by default (with the exception of the Santagram product).
You can specify for your address not to go forward by un-ticking the relevent check box when placing your order.

Your address details will not be shown on International Telegram messages transmitted overseas (unless you wish to include it as part of your message text).

Can I have a confirmation of delivery for my order?

Our guaranteed delivery service requires the 'Recipient' to sign for your message. If you select to receive either of our 'Delivery Report' options we can provide you with a copy of the recipient's signature or the reason why a signature could not be obtained.

If you choose to not have a delivery report, we cannot answer any queries regarding the delivery of your telegram.

Will I be able to have a receipt for my order?

A receipt is included as part of the confirmatory e-mail which, you will receive whenever you place an order through our web site. You can simply print it out and keep a copy for your financial records.
